Brookline Meetinghouse Annual Appeal
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As we near the end of 2023, the Brookline Meetinghouse is in the final stages of a major project to rebuild the foundation under the 1895 addition. The project will be paid for with an awarded State Historic Preservation grant, Federal ARPA money designated by our Select Board and money donated by supporters like you. Fundraising continues for interior and exterior painting, mold remediation and handicap accessibility.
The survey that was conducted in the spring confirmed an enthusiastic local support for a town center that can be made available for a variety of community-oriented programs and events. As such we are committed to work steadfastly towards that vision.
There have been two significant Meetinghouse events this year designed with a goal of bringing our community together – the very successful spring plant sale fundraiser, and the return of the Brookline Town picnic. If you were one of the 100 or so people who attended the July picnic you were able to enjoy live music and great food, donated by generous people with a vested interest in supporting the ongoing restorations. We hope you will attend a similar event in 2024!
Please consider a donation towards the ongoing restoration of our historic Meetinghouse, and help us create a lasting legacy that will benefit our townspeople for generations to come.
With Gratitude,
Lee Anne Parker, Dan Towler, Kerry Bourne, Julia and Stuart Duke, Jon Ballou
