You Can Make A Difference

Have you found dead spots in town where you can not access wireless reception? Do you want to help correct this in Brookline?

Your participation in the Public Input Survey for identifying Mobile wireless coverage gaps is needed as it is difficult to find all the gaps… but if you know where service isn’t working, please consider submitting your findings. It will help the State plan for better cell service in our area.

The Public Service Department (PSD) is seeking assistance to spread the word and take part in their 2024 Mobile Wireless Survey. If you are unfamiliar, every two years PSD conducts a statewide Mobile Wireless Drive Test. PSD drives around Vermont, testing both the Voice and Internet Speed of the major carriers and FirstNet. The data collected from this test is used to build their public mobile wireless coverage map and identify where gaps exist. The 2024 Drive Test is anticipated to begin in mid-October. The areas where coverage was limited or unavailable according to the last test are being prioritized.

The public’s involvement is critical, as they live, work, and drive along these roads every day, and have a good understanding of coverage gaps in their area. They know how long they will be out of cell service on their drive to pick up their children from school, and which roads to drive with extra caution, as there is no way to call for help. Please share this survey with your constituents. The survey allows users to report areas with coverage issues by specifying an address or drawing on a map. The data collected from this survey will help build the route PSD will take during the Drive Test beginning in October.
