Attention All Dog Owners
Now is the time to get your 2025 Brookline Dog License from the Town Clerk. The office is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon. You must bring with you a current rabies certificate. Cash or check will be accepted.
All dogs six (6) months or older must be licensed by April 1, 2025
Register before February 3, 2025 and save yourself $5 a dog!
Current Fees Are As Follows
Per Spayed/Neutered dog = $9.00
Per Unneutered dog = $13.00
After February 3, 2025 there will be a $5.00 increase assessed to cover some of the cost of hiring Deputy Ashley Pringer CVT. ACO of the Windham County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Pringer is contracted to help with Ordinance Enforcement, Impoundment, Dog Bites, Vicious Dog Hearings and Court Cases.
Dot Maggio will continue to be the Brookline Animal Control Officer and collaborate with the WCSD while maintaining leash laws, nuisance dogs, and act as a communication liaison between the Health Department, Windham County Sheriff Department and the Town of Brookline.
Starting February 3, 2025 the fees will be:
Per Spayed/Neutered dog will = $14.00
Per Unneutered dog will = $18.00
After April 1, 2025 there will be an additional $4.00 late fee added
Spayed/Neutered dog will be $18.00
Unneutered dog will be $22.00
For any dog not licensed by May 30, 2025 the owner will be charged a $50.00 fine per animal, according to the Brookline Dog Ordinance.
Dogs over 3 months of age shall be vaccinated against rabies. The initial vaccination shall be valid for 12 months. Within 9 – 12 months of the initial vaccination the animal shall receive a booster that will be valid for 36 months.
Upcoming Rabies Clinics
Because we want to be proactive in Brookline against RABIES, we will be holding two RABIES Vaccinations Clinic at Town Hall for residents only.
Come on Saturday February 1 – between 10 am and 12 Noon and Dr. Kotras will vaccinate your DOGS AND CATS for $25.00 per animal. You can then get your Dog Licensed on February 1, 2025 for the old rate before you leave Town Hall.
There will be a second Rabies Clinic on the first Saturday of March as well.
Saturday March 1, 2025 at Town Hall between 10 am and 12 Noon.
Licenses fees will be at the higher rate in March.
REMEMBER – Rabies is a disease that can kill animals and people.
Vermont Law requires rabies shots for all CATS and DOGS.
